VUDU VT260R Hybrid Garrett Turbo - Fiat Abarth
We are pleased to announce that we have developed and tested a Garrett Hybrid Turbo unit for the Fiat 500 Abarth 1.4 T-jet engine.
With years of turbocharger experience we have a vast knowledge of whats required to build a optimised turbocharger unit in house from start to finish.
The Abarth VTA260R not only offers fantastic power results but an extremely driveable torque curve, this means for fast road and track use the car is making peak boost and torque extremely early in the rev range and builds at the same rate as the stock unit. This can be seen in the graph below.
The Abarth Garrett unit is developed for the perfect OEM+ feel with outstanding reliability and outright pace.
We believe Abarth have developed a fantastic car in the Abarth 500 and 595 range. We are excited to offer a Stage 3 turbo that can enhance the way the car drives to a whole new level.
For obvious reasons we are keeping the internal spec of the turbo very much under wraps having spent hours working out the perfect combination of compressor wheel and turbine diameter, we are reluctant to help competitors fast track to this level. Couple this with our in house CNC machining centres and fully qualified turbo builders and the VTA260R offers the ultimate package.
Notice the VTA260R is making the same torque that the Stock garrett unit makes at peak before it even hits 2600RPM it also makes peak power of the stock turbo at 3250RPM
The unit is holding over 200Ib at the hub for over 3750RPM of the total available .
Before: 149whp | 178lbft
After: 224whp | 237lbft
Peak boost pressure 1.55bar
****NOTE THESE FIGURES ARE AT THE HUBS NOT AT THE ENGINE 15% CORRECTION FOR FWD IS USED AS INDUSTRY AVG, WE ALSO BASE THE PRICES LISTED ON A TURBO EXCHANGE BASIS****
Customer testimonial Mr Kitchen
"Just got back and the car is absolutely brilliant. I can’t believe the transformation from where it was. It’s retained all the qualities of the stock car but everything just feels ramped up a few levels.
The pull from 2900rpm on wards is really impressive, I haven’t noticed any oddities with the way the power is delivered and the car has been magic so far performance wise.
On a side note the car feels quicker than my M2 ever did once you are on boost. I'm not sure if that's just the car being smaller and more nimble.
I have also read that other stage 3 Abarth's will see a 0-62mph around 4.5sec. The car is such a joy and a fun car to drive i haven't stopping grinning between corners, it’s just that sort of car!"
